Welcome to the wonderful world of Jamie Wilson!
I am a composer, performer and teacher with a wealth of experience in music of all kinds.
As a composer I have scored many feature films, adverts and shorts, many of which are available on UK streaming services and international DVD markets. I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities to collaborate in film, please check out the composition tab to see and hear my existing work.
As a performer I’m lucky enough to be part of two award winning bands- The Audio Allstars and Hats Off To Led Zeppelin. In the gaps between their shows I also play with small venue bands The River Gypsies and Hedgehogs. Prior to working in tributes and covers, I played in original bands timshel and Bring the Revolution, having opened over the years for many great acts including Ugly Kid Joe, Steve Cropper, The Animals, Wishbone Ash, Focus, and Chuck Mosley (Faith No More) among many others.
And finally as a teacher, I have been a lecturer of various disciplines for The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) for some years, as well as a guest lecturer for Derby University, and in secondary education I have also taught for Henry Beaufort School in Winchester. I am also part of the editorial board for Music, health and wellbeing- a musicology publication that reviews PhD proposals. Aside from those more academic pursuits, I run a private teaching practice from home where I tutor people of all ages in areas of classical, jazz, rock and blues or folk. I love interacting in these sessions and have a passion for progress at whatever pace the student is looking for, whether that means gentle and leisurely enjoyment or ambitious graded exam progression! So please get in touch- whatever your project or passion I’d love to hear about it!
